Media Upload Client
Volunteer work: Designed and implemented a specialized FTP client for SermonAudio broadcasters. Their FTP upload feature uses a special naming convention for ID3 tags that maps the default tags to fields on their site. To allow for easy tag editing and quick uploads, I built a client program in Java which knows the SermonAudio tag format and allows users to browse, modify, and upload their MP3 audio without having to use two separate programs (an ID3 tag editor and a generic FTP client). Broadcasters on this site don't always have the time and expertise to learn software packages. Beyond being a simple FTP client, the application has several enhancements concerning automated uploads.
The FTP client was written completely in Swing, and was tested on Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms. The source code was released under the GNU Public License so anyone could use the program or enhance the software.
