LaTeX Typesetting
I have typeset two books (one had about 500 pages, the other about 1000) in the LaTeX typesetting package. The shorter one was converted from an MS Word document using a LaTeX output filter (and then edited by hand to clean up the output), and the longer one written from scratch. After a third volume was added, the total project was on the order of three-quarters of a million words. During this project, I learned a lot about typesetting in general, and LaTeX in particular. These books were not simple text, but included many different typesetting features, including floating pictures, figures, tables, etc.
