Bare Metal Setup
I have installed several servers from the "bare metal" (i.e. no operating system installed) which were delivered still on their shipping pallets.
These days, of course, there is much less need for this sort of thing because operating system installs are so streamlined.
I have set up AIX, HP-UX, and Sun equipment from the bare metal. (Other than, of course, my own Linux servers and desktops.)
